Sudbury – Walfred E. Hyden, 78, of North Road, Sudbury, died Monday, March 8, 2010 after an illness. He was born in Maynard, son of the late Eino and Bertha (Manninen) Hyden.
He was the husband of Joan (Boothroyd) Hyden for fifty years. A graduate of Maynard High School, he later served for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He had been a resident of Maynard most of his life, moving to Sudbury in 1987.
He was a retired welder who had worked for the Former Anderson Engineering Co. in Cambridge.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Glenn Hyden of Milford; three grandchildren Nicholas, Amanda and Joshua.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, at 11:00 AM in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Sudbury. There are no visiting hours but there will be a memorial mass scheduled at a later date.
